NTPC suspends a corporate communication manager
'The alleged incident is an individual act,' said the Maharatna in an official statement

Vijay was arrested by CBI on May 3 on graft charges
New Delhi: The power Maharatna NTPC Limited has suspended the Corporate Communications Manager, who was allegedly involved in a bribery case.
In an official statement NTPC said, "We are deeply concerned by the allegations of bribery involving one of our employees. The alleged incident is an individual act and does not reflect on the values of our organisation. Meanwhile, the employee has been suspended from the rolls of the company with immediate effect."
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had on May 3, arrested a senior manager of corporate communications at NTPC for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 8 lakh to pass bills.
The arrested official Vijay Kumar, a senior manager of corporate communications was working at NTPC, in Mumbai office. Allegedly he had flown in from Mumbai to Delhi to receive the illegal gratification.
