

New Delhi: NTPC Limited has been recognised as a Top Employer in India for 2026 by the Top Employers Institute, marking the fourth consecutive year the Maharatna PSU has received the prestigious certification.
The recognition underscores NTPC’s focus on building a high-performing and people-centric workplace through data-driven human resource strategies, independent validation, and progressive HR practices aimed at enhancing employee engagement, productivity, and long-term organisational growth.
The Top Employers Institute, a global authority in HR certification and benchmarking active across 131 countries and regions, evaluates organisations through its comprehensive HR Best Practices Survey. The assessment spans six key HR domains and 20 topics, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, and Employee Wellbeing.
NTPC successfully completed the HR Best Practices Survey, validation, and audit process under the Institute’s certification programme to secure the Top Employer status for 2026.
The certification reflects NTPC’s commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work culture, guided by its “People before PLF (Plant Load Factor)” philosophy. The company’s leadership approach and progressive people practices continue to support organisational goals while driving improved employee engagement and performance.
NTPC currently operates over 87 GW of installed power generation capacity, with an additional 32 GW under construction. The company has set a target to expand its capacity to 149 GW by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy sources, and further to 244 GW by 2037. Its long-term growth roadmap involves a planned capital expenditure of around Rs 7 lakh crore across areas such as renewable energy, energy storage systems, pumped storage projects, nuclear power, green hydrogen, and chemicals.
With a diversified portfolio spanning thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power, NTPC remains focused on supplying reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity while accelerating the adoption of clean energy technologies in line with India’s energy transition goals.
