New Delhi: On a momentous occasion on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated five new and upgraded versions of Vande Bharat Express trains at Rani Kamalapati Station in Bhopal, said the Ministry of Railways in a statement. This event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister for Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with public representatives and special guests, the statement added.
The introduction of these five new Vande Bharat Express trains marks a significant milestone in Indian Railways, promising an era of comfortable and enhanced rail travel experiences, the statement said. The newly launched trains will operate on the following routes including, Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur, Rani Kamalapati-Indore, Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai, Ranchi-Patna, and Dharwad-Bengaluru. These services aim to improve connectivity between state capitals and other cities, reduce travel time, and enhance passenger comfort throughout the nation, added the statement.
The Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express will depart from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station and reach Jabalpur the same day, with stoppages at Narsinghpur, Pipariya, and Narmadapuram Railway stations, said the statement. This train's operation will not only enhance the connectivity of Jabalpur, the cultural capital of Madhya Pradesh but also boost the overall development of the region, it added.
The Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express will depart from Bhopal Railway Station and arrive in Indore on the same day, with a stoppage at Ujjain Railway Station. This service will facilitate convenient and rapid travel, connecting the cultural, tourism, and pilgrimage destinations in these regions, the statement added.
The Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station and reach Madgaon on the same day, with multiple stoppages along the route. This state-of-the-art train is expected to bolster tourism in the Konkan region and provide a means of swift and comfortable travel for residents, said the statement.
The Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express will depart from Patna and reach Ranchi the same day, making stops at Gaya, Kodarma, Hazaribag, Barkakana, and Mesra Railway stations. This service will enhance connectivity for local traders and businessmen, enabling faster travel between the two cities, said the statement.
The Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will depart from KSR Bengaluru City and arrive in Dharwad on the same day, with stoppages at Yeshvantpur, Davangere, and Hubballi Railway stations. This train will play a crucial role in connecting the educational hub of Dharwad to the business center of Bengaluru, bridging North and South Karnataka.
The Vande Bharat Express trains offer a host of superior amenities, providing passengers with a world-class and comfortable travel experience. These trains boast advanced safety features, including KAVACH technology, and are equipped with bogies having fully suspended traction motors for operational speeds of up to 160 kmph. The state-of-the-art suspension system ensures a smooth and safe journey, enhancing passenger comfort.
Moreover, the Vande Bharat Express trains are designed with a focus on environmental sustainability. By eliminating power cars and incorporating an advanced regenerative braking system, these trains are expected to save approximately 30 percent electricity, said the statement.
