New Delhi: THDC India Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) R K Vishnoi informed that in compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has successfully organised "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign with the planting of 75 saplings of indigenous species near Bhagirathi Bhawan, at the Corporate Headquarters Rishikesh as a part of the creation of the “Amrit Vatika.” Vishnoi expressed that this special campaign stands as a poignant tribute to India's historical journey towards freedom and progress, all while honouring the 'Veers' who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

He further highlighted how this initiative perfectly aligns with THDCIL's steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility and its unwavering determination to positively impact society and the environment. The campaign's overarching aim is to instill a profound sense of national pride and to inspire future generations to safeguard India's cherished heritage in THDC’s journey of providing sustainable affordable power 24x7 to all.

THDC's Director (Finance) J Behera and THDC's Director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh and other senior official of THDC India Limited marked the occasion by planting saplings symbolizing growth, resilience, and remembrance.

Behera during his address to the employees present on the occasion emphasized that the Nationwide “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign was launched to pay tribute to the courageous souls who laid down their lives for the country. It envisions a unified celebration of India’s soil and valour.

Singh stressed the importance of initiatives like “Meri Maati Mera Desh” by the Government of India in instilling a profound sense of national pride.
