Mumbai: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 at its Corporate Office on October 30. The theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 is “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation,” and it is observed from October 30 to November 5. BPCL has planned a series of activities throughout the week to promote vigilance and awareness across the Corporation, involving employees on a pan-India level, said the official media release sent by BPCL.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Sanjay Bhatia, Upa-Lokayukta of Maharashtra, and attended by esteemed dignitaries, including G. Krishnakumar, Chairman & Managing Director Meenaxi Rawat, IES, Chief Vigilance Officer; V.R.K. Gupta, Director Finance; Sukhmal Jain, Director Marketing; Rajkumar Dubey, Director HR; S. Srikanth, Chief General Manager (Vigilance), and other senior officials of BPCL.

In her inaugural address, Meenaxi Rawat, CVO BPCL, emphasized "the importance of the PIDPI (Prevention, Identification, Deterrence, Punishment, and Disposal of complaints) framework and the organization's whistle-blower policy in upholding transparency. She stressed the significance of capacity building for officers serving as Inquiry officers and presenting officers and highlighted the need for leveraging technology in the complaints management system."

G. Krishnakumar C&MD, BPCL; emphasized, "Integrity in thought and action has been a cornerstone of BPCL's identity for years. We have faith in our employees to uphold our tradition of ethical practices and integrity. On this occasion of VAW-23, let us come together and reaffirm our commitment: Ethics govern all our actions, and trust is the bedrock of our existence.”, he said in an official statement.

Chief Guest Sanjay Bhatia shared insightful experiences from his personal and official life, emphasizing the need for a robust transparency plan within organizations. He emphasized the role of meditation in fostering individual transformation, stating that internal change is essential for achieving any goal.

On this occasion, the 19th edition of the Vigilance Plus newsletter and the Compendium of Central Vigilance Commission circulars and guidelines were released by Sanjay Bhatia, Up Lokayukta Maharashtra, in the presence of all Directors and senior officers, the official release concluded.
