New Delhi: THDC India Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) RK Vishnoi extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the employees of the corporation for being honoured with the esteemed ‘NTPC Rajbhasha Shield (Consolation) Award for the year 2022-23.’ The presentation of the award was an esteemed moment with the Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy R K Singh handing over the accolade to THDC's Director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh during the Hindi Advisory Committee meeting of the Ministry of Power held in Delhi on August 17. The ceremony witnessed the presence of CMDs, Directors, senior dignitaries of the Power Sector, along with the members of the Hindi Advisory Committee.

During the event, Vishnoi emphasized THDC's unwavering commitment to its constitutional and societal responsibilities alongside its core functions. He highlighted the organisation's active engagement in diverse areas such as social welfare, rehabilitation, training, development programs for project-affected individuals (PAPs), women's empowerment, and community development.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Singh expressed immense pride and highlighted the significance of the award as a testament to THDC’s dedication to implementing Rajbhasha across its projects and unit offices. He emphasised the significance of performing daily tasks in Hindi as a tangible demonstration of dedication to the official language.

During this meeting, the inauguration of Rajbhasha magazines from the various offices and undertakings under the control of the Ministry of Power took place. A special highlight was the release of the June-2023 edition of THDC India Limited's Rajbhasha magazine 'Pahal.' The occasion was graced by the presence of Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, RK Singh, Special Secretary & FA (Ministry of Power) Ashish Upadhyaya; Economic Advisor (Ministry of Power) Jithesh John and Director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh.

THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
