The project, awarded by the Medical Education & Research Department, Assam, involves the deployment of a web-based, multi-module HMIS aimed at digitising hospital operations and improving transparency, efficiency and patient care, RailTel said in an official statement.

Under the project, HMIS will enable patients to access medical records digitally, assist doctors with real-time clinical data, and support hospital administrators with data-driven decision-making. The system will also allow integration with medical and diagnostic equipment and enable cross-consultation among hospitals.

The hospitals covered include Assam Medical College Hospital (Dibrugarh), Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Silchar Medical College Hospital, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital (Barpeta), Tezpur Medical College Hospital, Lakhimpur Medical College Hospital and Diphu Medical College Hospital.
