
New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has successfully transferred the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Mahan Transmission Limited, to Adani Energy Solutions Limited. The official handover took place on March 26.
According to an official statement, Adani Energy Solutions Limited emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the bid process coordinator. The company will develop the transmission project under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model.
The official transfer of the SPV was carried out in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions Limited, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), and Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL). Shashank Sharma, Head of Business Development at Adani Energy Solutions Limited, received the SPV on behalf of the company.
The transmission project entails the construction of a 400/220/132 kV substation at Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan, along with a 166 km 400 kV transmission line between PTEMPL (MEL) Switchyard and Rewa (Sagra), and a 50 km 400 kV transmission line between Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan. Additionally, the scheme includes associated 220 kV and 132 kV lines. The total estimated cost of the project is approximately Rs. 1,996.47 crore.
The implementation period for the Rewa (Sagra) Substation is set for completion by October 25, 2026, while the Amarpatan Substation is expected to be operational by April 25, 2027.
