New Delhi: REC Limited owned REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) announced the transfer of two project-specific special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to successful winners on Friday. According to the company, it has handed over two power transmission projects namely -- Khavda IV A Power Transmission Limited and Khavda IV C Power Transmission Limited to Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) and Sterlite Grid 38 Limited respectively, at its corporate office in Gurugram.
These projects are intended for the evacuation of power from the potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7 GW). The projects are targeted for implementation in 24 months.
AESL and Sterlite Grid 38 have emerged as the transmission service providers (TSP) for Khavda Ph IV Part A and Part C projects respectively through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, for development of the above transmission projects on build, own, operate & transfer (BOOT) basis.
The Khavda IV A project involves constructing 310.31 kilometers of 765 kV transmission line, along with the creation of 765 kV and 400 kV bus sections at the KPS3 GIS substation. The Khavda IV C project includes establishing a 765/400 kV substation at Boisar-II (GIS) with a capacity of 4x1500 MVA and 2x500 MVA, as well as constructing 257.29 kilometers of 765 kV transmission line and 20.725 kilometers of 400 kV line.
The SPVs were handed over by RECPDCL's CEO TSC Bosh to AESL's Vice President Sanjay Johari and Sterlite Power Transmission Limited's Executive Vice President Tatimakula Amarendranath Reddy in presence of senior officials of RECPDCL, AESL, SPTL and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.
