RECPDCL hands over Ranipur Chunar power transmission SPV to HG Infra Engineering

New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to HG Infra Engineering Limited.

The SPV was handed over to H G Infra Engineering on September 26, 2026, following the company’s selection as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator.

The SPV has been formed for development of the intra-state transmission project “Construction of 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation, Ranipur (Mau) and 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation, Chunar (Mirzapur)” in Uttar Pradesh on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

Rajesh Raj, Senior General Manager and Head of Department, RECPDCL, handed over the SPV to Ujjval Verma, Chief General Manager (Finance), H G Infra Engineering, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, H G Infra Engineering and Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited.

The transmission project envisages establishment of 220/132/33 kV AIS substations at Ranipur in Mau and Chunar in Mirzapur, along with a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line from Rasra to Ranipur and other associated works.

The project has an implementation schedule of 18 months, according to the company.
