New Delhi: The Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the Critical Mineral Seminar and launched the NCMM Outreach Forum under the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) in New Delhi on Friday. The forum aims to strengthen collaboration among government agencies, industry, startups, and research institutions to build a resilient and self-reliant critical minerals ecosystem.

In his keynote address, the Minister highlighted the strategic importance of critical minerals for India's clean energy transition, defence, digital economy, and manufacturing sectors. He stated that the Outreach Forum would serve as a catalyst for innovation, investment, and sustainable development in the sector.

The seminar saw participation from over 200 delegates, including public and private companies, state governments, academia, R\&D institutions, and international agencies such as the ADB and World Bank. The Ministry of Mines also shared updates on mission progress, including recent auctions and the Centre of Excellence scheme.

On the sidelines of the event, Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) signed an MoU with RITES Limited to establish a reliable and sustainable supply chain for metals and critical minerals. The partnership aims to leverage both companies' strengths in exploration, extraction, and production.

The seminar featured technical sessions and policy discussions on advancements in processing technologies, state-level initiatives, and innovative financing models, with a strong focus on building a circular economy through recycling and extended producer responsibility.
