RITES revises Bidar-Kalaburagi rail electrification project cost to Rs 154.65 crore

New Delhi: State-owned RITES Limited on Tuesday informed about a revision in the project cost of its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the electrification of the Bidar-Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) railway section in Karnataka. The information has been shared by RITES in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on September 22.

The project, awarded by South Central Railway, covers 110 route kilometres (RKM) and is being executed on a cost-plus turnkey basis.

According to RITES’ regulatory filing dated September 22, the revised project cost stands at Rs 154.65 crore, excluding GST, including RITES’ fees. The original project cost was Rs 97.96 crore, excluding GST and including RITES’ fees.

The scope of the contract includes providing Project Management Consultancy services for the electrification of the Bidar-Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) railway section. The project is currently ongoing.

The order has been awarded by South Central Railway, a domestic entity. RITES said the transaction is between a government entity and a government company and does not fall under related-party transaction considerations.
