RVNL bags Rs 270 crore EPC contract from Central Railway

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Central Railway for a major electrification infrastructure project worth over Rs 270 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 220/132/55 KV traction substation, along with sectioning posts (SPs) and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs), under a 2×25 KV traction system for the Daund–Solapur section. The project is aimed at supporting a 3000 metric tonne loading target and will be executed on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode.

According to the filing made by the compant to the stock exchnages, the total cost of the project stands at approximately Rs 270.22 crore, including applicable taxes.

The project is to be completed within a 24-month timeframe.

RVNL, a key rail infrastructure PSU, continues to strengthen its order book with such project wins, reinforcing its role in expanding and modernising India’s railway electrification and freight capacity.
