New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) from Central Railway for a major traction infrastructure project in Maharashtra.

The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 220/132/55 KV traction substations, sectioning posts (SPs), and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs) in a 2x25 KV traction system (Scott Connected Transformer) for the Daund–Solapur sections of Central Railway. The initiative is aimed at enabling the network to meet a 3,000 MT loading target under the EPC mode.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the cost of the project is Rs 272.08 crore (including taxes) and it is to be completed within 24 months. The contract has been awarded by Central Railway, and RVNL confirmed that it falls under the normal course of business.

The disclosure, signed by Kalpana Dubey, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, noted that the promoter group or related parties have no interest in the awarding entity.
