

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a project awarded by East Coast Railway for setting up a wagon Periodic Overhaul (POH) workshop with a capacity of 200 wagons at Kantabanji, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
The project has an estimated cost of Rs 201.23 crore, excluding GST. The work is to be executed within a period of 18 months, RVNL further added.
The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not fall under related-party transactions. RVNL also clarified that neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority.
RVNL is a Government of India enterprise engaged in the implementation of rail infrastructure projects, including new lines, doubling, electrification and major system upgrades across the Indian Railways network.
