New Delhi: SJVN Limited has bagged 90 MW Floating Solar Project at Rs 3.79/unit in Omkareshwar Floating Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

SJVN Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) NL Sharma said, SGEL, a fully owned subsidiary of SJVN has secured the floating solar project in tariff based competitive bidding process of e-reverse auction conducted by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) on build own and operate basis. This is SJVN’s second project in Omkareshwar Floating Solar Park as the company is already developing 90 MW floating project which will be commissioned in the current financial year.

Sharma further apprised that the tentative development cost the project is Rs 610 crores and will be developed through engineering procurement and construction contract. The project is expected to generate 203 million units in the first year and the cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 4781 million units.

The Project shall be commissioned in a period of 21 months from the date of signing of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The PPA shall be executed after issuance of letter of intent by RUMSL and MPPMCL.

"The commissioning of this project is expected to reduce 2,34,304 tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute in Government of India’s mission of carbon emission reduction," SJVN said in an official statement.
