SJVN’s Rampur Hydro Power Station achieves FY'25 energy target ahead of schedule

New Delhi: In a significant milestone, SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station (RHPS) has achieved its design energy target of 1,878.08 million units for FY 2024-25 over three months ahead of schedule. This achievement is the second-fastest in the station’s history, following its earlier record on December 15, 2019, during FY 2019-20.

This feat underscores the station’s high operational standards, efficient maintenance, and adherence to technical excellence. Rampur HPS, operating in tandem with the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, exemplifies a unique model in India’s hydropower sector.

Celebrating a decade of commercial operations this year, Rampur HPS has made significant contributions to clean energy generation and regional development. Over the past ten years, it has surpassed 20,000 million units of power generation, meeting its annual design energy targets in eight out of ten years. Notable achievements include its highest-ever annual generation of 2,098 million units in FY 2019-20, a record quarterly generation of 955.6 million units, and a single-day high of 11.02 million units in the current fiscal.

The plant’s impressive Plant Availability Factor (PAF) of 106.41 percent has generated Rs 8,000 crore in revenue over the last decade. Additionally, SJVN has invested Rs 37 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, significantly benefitting project-affected communities and surrounding areas.

SJVN credited this success to the dedication of its workforce, especially Team RHPS, and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power, Government of Himachal Pradesh, local communities, and stakeholders for their unwavering support. The company reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence and its mission to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for India.
