Secretary (Power) chaired a comprehensive review meeting today with senior officials of the Ministry, CMDs and Directors of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), and heads of attached, subordinate, and autonomous organisations. The meeting assessed the progress of activities being undertaken as part of the campaign’s Implementation Phase (October 2–31, 2025).

During the review, the Secretary emphasised the importance of setting higher benchmarks and expanding initiatives to enhance cleanliness, record management, and timely disposal of pending matters. Officials were urged to make concerted efforts to achieve the targets identified during the preparatory phase.

The ongoing phase of the campaign is focused on addressing long-pending matters, including MPs’ references, PMO and inter-ministerial communications, public grievances, and Parliamentary assurances. All participating offices are submitting regular progress reports to ensure close monitoring and timely completion of targets.

So far, during the Implementation Phase, the Ministry has achieved notable progress, conducting 310 cleanliness campaigns, weeding out or closing 10,249 files, freeing up 56,381 square feet of office space, disposing of 22 MPs’ references and 301 public grievances, simplifying 16 processes, and generating Rs 3.6 crore in revenue through scrap disposal.

Building on the success of previous campaigns, the Ministry aims to make Special Campaign 5.0 more impactful by setting new benchmarks in administrative efficiency and sustainability. Efforts are being intensified to enhance digitalisation, accelerate e-waste disposal, and foster a culture of cleanliness and accountability across the power sector ecosystem.
