New Delhi: THDC India Limited on Thursday said that has signed MoUs with Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for the development of renewable energy projects (RE) in the state of Karnataka.

Both, KPCL and KREDL are owned by the Government of Karnataka,

The MoUs were signed at Bangalore in the presence of Minister of Energy, Government of Karnataka KJ George. The MoUs were signed by Additional Chief Secretary, Energy, Govt of Karnataka and Managing Director (MD) of KPCL, Gaurav Gupta; KREDL's Managing Director (MD) KP Rudrappaiah and THDC's Director (Technical) Bhupender Gupta. On the occasion, Vijay Ķumar, Special Officer Coordination, Sandeep Singhal, CGM (NCR) and Mallikarjuna, DGM were also present.

This strategic alliance not only underscores THDC's commitment to clean energy but also signals a promising trajectory for the region's energy landscape with the collaboration of leading Power entities of Karnataka, said THDC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) RK Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL.

"These collaborative efforts encompass the development of a diverse range of Projects, spanning ground-mounted, floating solar Projects, and hybrid projects including Pumped Storage Projects with a cumulative capacity of around 3270 MW," THDC said in an official statement.

Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000 MW), Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50 MW at Patan and 63 MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
