New Delhi: Titagarh Wagons announced on Tuesday in a regulatory filing that it has been awarded a substantial contract for the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project worth Rs 857 crores. The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, confirming their selection for the project.
Under the terms of the agreement, Titagarh Wagons will undertake the "Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, and Training of 72 nos. of Standard Gauge Cars" for the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project, the filing noted.
Further, the filing said that the execution of the project is scheduled to begin 76 weeks after the signing of the contract and is expected to be completed within 132 weeks thereafter.
