The additional outlay would take the state’s total budget for FY27 from Rs 1,11,703.21 crore to Rs 1,19,547.39 crore.

Foodgrain procurement gets Rs 1,100 crore

The government proposed Rs 1,100 crore for paddy and wheat purchases from farmers under the food procurement scheme, highlighting support for agriculture and the rural economy.

It also proposed increasing local bodies’ share of state tax revenue from 10.5 percent to 12.5 percent, in line with the Sixth State Finance Commission’s recommendations.

An allocation of Rs 721 crore has been proposed for this purpose, providing gram panchayats and urban local bodies with additional resources for development works and local needs, the government said.

Funds for infrastructure and power

The supplementary budget includes a capital provision of Rs 500 crore under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI) to expand infrastructure.

Approximately Rs 270 crore has been allocated across energy-sector heads, including the Khurpiya Farm project, to strengthen power transmission and distribution systems.

Projects funded by the Asian Development Bank under the Urban Development Department have been allotted about Rs 100 crore.
