NHPC celebrates International Women’s Day with great fervour and enthusiasm

New Delhi: NHPC Limited is observing International Women's Day under 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' with great fervour and enthusiasm at its corporate office, Faridabad and across its various locations in the country. NHPC's T&HRD Division and NHPC WIPs (Women in Power Sector) cell is organising a two-day workshop for NHPC women employees from March 8 to March 9 to commemorate International Women's Day. The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes' (NCST) Secretary Alka Tiwari (IAS) and NHPC Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) AK Singh. NHPC Limited's Director (Technical) YK Chaubey, Director (Finance) RP Goyal, Director (Projects) Biswajit Basu, CVO AK Srivastava were also present on the occasion along with other senior officers and women employees of NHPC. The programme was telecast live across all NHPC Regional Offices, Power Stations and Projects to enable participation of all NHPC women employees posted at these locations.

Tiwari delivered a special talk on 'Women in Leadership in the opening session of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, NHPC CMD stressed the role of women in society. He further highlighted the recent achievements of NHPC women employees and applauded their hard work, dedication and professionalism in contributing towards the growth of NHPC.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, NHPC especially felicitated 12 female employees for their outstanding contributions in various fields. Amongst these employees, Dr Kamla Fartyal, GGM, Medical Services and Dr Sushma Baleshwar Trivedi, Sr. DCMO were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. A Nalini, Senior Manager (Finance) was felicitated for her outstanding performance in para-sports at both national and international level and Suja Anandan, Senior Manager (Civil), Monika Singh,  DM (Electrical), Aditi Bisht, Manager (Civil), Dr Pinki Kumari Roy,  Sr DCMO, Saloni Yadav, DM (Electrical), Nidhi Kaloni, DM (Electrical), Purva Maini, Assistant Programmer, Anju Marwah, Private Secretary and Kamlesh, Assistant Programmer were felicitated for commendable performance in various Inter CPSU Sports tournaments. 

The two-day workshop will include interactive sessions on a variety of topics dealing with women empowerment, leadership, work-life balance, financial planning etc. by leading experts from a diverse range of fields.
