NHPC conducts e-meeting of Official Language Implementation Committee

New Delhi: NHPC Limited conducted the first quarterly meeting of 2020-21 of the Official Language Implementation Committee through video conferencing under the Chairmanship of AK Singh (Chairman & Managing Director of NHPC Limited) Tuesday. NHPC Limited's Director (Projects) Ratish Kumar, Director (Personnel) Nikhil Kumar Jain, Director (Finance) Mahesh Kumar Mittal, Director (Technical) YK Chaubey, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) AK Shrivastava, HODs of Corporate Office and heads of the Regional Offices, Power Stations and Projects of the corporation participated online in the meeting.

During this e-meeting, the status of implementation of 'Rajbhasha' in all the projects, power stations and offices of NHPC including corporate office was reviewed thoroughly. On this occasion, the latest issue (October 2019 - March 2020) of NHPC's Hindi magazine 'Rajbhasha Jyoti' was released by CMD.  In addition, the technical report in Hindi on the topic 'Importance of Seismic Safety in Hydropower Projects - NHPC's Efforts in the Field of Seismic Monitoring and Analysis' of Engineering Geology and Geo-tech Division was also released by Chairman & Managing Director of the company.

While chairing the meeting, CMD said, "It is our constitutional obligation to increase and promote the use of Hindi and we should feel proud to use Hindi in our official work." He further said, "Good work is being done in the implementation of Rajbhasha Hindi in our departments and subordinate offices, but there is a need to further increase Hindi works in the E-Office etc. modules."

NHPC Limited's Executive Director (HR) Avinash Kumar in his welcome address briefly informed about the official language activities conducted in the last quarter. A total of 70 officials from NHPC's various departments and projects, power stations and offices participated in this e-meeting.

It is mentioned that the positive cooperation by the higher management of NHPC and the sincere work by the entire corporation towards the implementation of Rajbhasha has resulted in conferring of 'Rajbhasha Kirti Award', the highest award for best work in the field of Official Language Implementation of the government to NHPC for eight times.
