NHPC getting new Director (Finance); click to know

New Delhi: Rajendra Prasad Goyal is set to be Director (Finance) of NHPC Limited, a state-run Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Goyal's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. He is currently serving as Chief General Manager in the same organisation.

With his new assignment, Goyal will replace, Mahesh Kumar Mittal, who is serving on NHPC's board since March 1, 2017.

Goyal has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of NHPC Limited from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. A total of two candidates including Goyal were from NHPC Limited and others were from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited, SJVN Limited, HLL Lifecare Limited, Rural Electrification Corporation and Lanco Anpara Power Limited, one candidate from each.

NHPC Limited is a Miniratna PSU under the aegis of the Ministry of Power.

NHPC was recently in news for the resumption of Subansiri dam construction which was pending for a very long time. The construction of the Subansiri lower dam has been stalled since 2011 by environmental groups because of ecological concerns.
