participated in ‘Power Summit 2019’ organised by the Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) from November 21 to November 22 at Kathmandu, Nepal. During the inaugural session of ‘Power Summit 2019’, NHPC exchanged letter of intent with HIDCL (Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited – A company owned by the government of Nepal) for joint cooperation on development of hydropower in Nepal. The achievements of NHPC were also showcased in an attractive stall which was inaugurated by the Ministry of Power's Joint Secretary (Hydro) Aniruddha Kumar. This prestigious event was attended by 764 participants from 21 countries.
NHPC’s delegation for ‘Power Summit 2019’ included NHPC's Director (Technical) Janardan Choudhary, NHPC's Executive Director AK Singh and other senior NHPC officers. Executive Director AK Singh also made a special presentation on NHPC’s role in hydropower development wherein he elucidated the technical prowess of NHPC and its role in hydropower development in India and neighbouring countries including Nepal. NHPC's Director (Technical) Janardan Choudhary and Executive Director AK Singh also visited Indian Embassy in Nepal and held discussions on future plans of NHPC in Nepal with His Excellency, the Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri and other senior officers of the embassy.
