NHPC signs MoA with IIT Kanpur for R&D

New Delhi: State-run NHPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for research and development (R&D) collaboration with IIT Kanpur recently. The MoA was signed by NHPC's Executive Director (R&D) Gobinda Baidya and Professor S Ganesh, Dean (R&D), IIT Kanpur, in the presence of senior officials of NHPC and IIT Kanpur.

"This MOA has been signed with IIT Kanpur for availing the services of the institute as a consultant for undertaking research and advisory studies within its expertise for ongoing and future activities of NHPC within and outside the country," NHPC said in a press release.

NHPC Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power, is India's premier hydropower generation company that was incorporated in the year 1975 with an authorised capital of Rs 2,000 million and with an objective to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects. IIT Kanpur Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, also known as IIT Kanpur or IITK, is a public engineering institution located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was declared to be an institute of national importance by the government under the Institutes of Technology Act.
