NHPC’s Director (Personnel) addresses ‘Occuclave 2019’

New Delhi: NK Jain, Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited, India's premier hydropower company, addressed the inaugural session of Occuclave 2019, the 7^th Global Conclave of AEOHD (Association of Environmental and Occupational Health Delhi) on December 8 at New Delhi.

Jain was also the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Jain appreciated the work being carried out by AEOHD in the field of occupational health issues of industrial workers. Jain also informed the gathering about the various measures being taken by NHPC Limited to take care of its employees, contract labour and to the local communities residing near NHPC's power stations and projects to maintain "Work-Life-Balance."

Jain highlighted upon initiatives as "Tele-Medicine System", "Smart Cards" and "Talks and Training" programmes given to NHPC employees in order to address various health-related issues. Jain further informed the gathering about the developmental activities under CSR-SD as 'SPANDAN' mobile medical unit scheme, providing of aids and assistive devices along with vocational training to the differently-abled etc. that have been undertaken by NHPC towards healthcare.

During the award distribution ceremony of the Occuclave 2019, Jain also presented the '2^nd GAIL Oration' award to NHPC's Chief General Manager (Medical Services) Dr Kamla Fartyal conferred by AEOHD in recognition of her exemplary contribution in the field of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
