New Delhi: (Bullet Train News) NHSRCL opened financial bids for the design and construction of 88 km (approx.) length of the viaduct on Monday. The viaduct has to be constructed between Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat including the construction of Anand/Nadiad Station for Mumbai- Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor (508 km). In the financial bids, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has come out as the lowest bidder. The technical bids for this tender were opened on 25th September 2020.

Total of three bidders involving 7 (seven) major Indian infrastructural companies had participated in the competitive bidding. Bidders other L&T were (1) Afcons Infrastructure Limited – IRCON International Limited – JMC Projects India Ltd- Consortium and (2) NCC Limited – Tata Project Ltd.- J. Kumar Infra Projects Ltd. – HSR Consortium.

NHSRCL has already awarded work for 237 km of the viaduct between Vapi and Vadodara in Gujarat including 4 elevated HSR stations namely Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch and one Train depot at Surat to M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd. This tender covers about 47% of total alignment of 508 km which makes the package the largest among all for the line's construction. This is going to be constructed between Vapi (Zaroli Village at Maharashtra- Gujarat Border) and Vadodara in the state of Gujarat. This includes four (04) stations namely Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch, and Surat Depot.

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has been incorporated in 2016 with an object to finance, construct, maintain and manage the High-Speed Rail Corridor in India. High-Speed Rail Corporation of India Limited (HSRC) has been formed under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, for the development and implementation of the high-speed rail projects in India. The corporation is a 'Special Purpose Vehicle' in the joint sector with equity participation of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India and two State Governments – Government of Gujarat and Government of Maharashtra.
