Nirlep Singh Rai set to be NFL’s new Director (Technical)

New Delhi: Nirlep Singh Rai is set to be new Director (Technical) of National Fertilizer Limited (NFL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Rai's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. He also holds additional charge of the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL). RFCL is a joint venture company of NFL, Engineers India Limited (EIL) and Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL).

Rai has been selected from the list of the five members who were interviewed in the selection meeting. A total of the three candidates who were in the list were from the NFL and two others were from NTPC Limited and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Rai has done his B.E. (Instrumentation and Control) from Thapar University, Patiala (Punjab). He has professional experience of more than 35 years. He took charge of CEO, RFCL on November 1, 2018.

Rai has worked at all units of the NFL in various capacities. He has also held the charge of technical services and projects at the Bathinda unit. Rai has been involved in various projects such as feed stock change over from fuel oil to Natural Gas, commissioning of DCS and ESD systems, Machine Monitoring Systems, Process Gas Analyzers, Fire and Gas Systems etc. Rai's experience includes technical services and operation and maintenance of large scale Fertilizer Plants.
