New Delhi: In line with the government's vision for a cleaner and greener environment, India's largest power generation company, NTPC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has banned the use of plastic. The company informed that it has introduced a complete ban on single-use plastic across all its locations, including power stations, offices and residential townships. NTPC is encouraging its employees to carry reusable bags for daily needs.

The company has provided jute bags to employees for their daily purpose and to reduce plastic use. NTPC's CMD Gurdeep Singh had also emphasized on the need to bring out a policy and an action plan to implement 'Integrated Plastic Waste Management' in NTPC while addressing employees on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. NTPC has also released a short film on single-use plastic across its social media platforms.
