NTPC Bongaigaon pays rich tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

New Delhi: NTPC Bongaigaon paid rich tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Boseon Sunday at its premises. The NTPC Bongaigaon Sports Complex was renamed as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium to commemorate the great leader and also coincide with the 75th year of Independence "Ajadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" by NTPC Bongaigaon's Executive Director Subrata Mandal. GM (O&M) T Ravinder, GM (FM & Maintenance) Umesh Singh, GM (Operations) DP Patra, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club Vice President Sunitha Ravinder representatives of union and association, departmental heads and employees were present on the occasion keeping all COVID protocols in place.

Speaking on the occasion, Mandal spoke on the legacy and stature of Netaji and his ideologies of life. His struggle towards freedom movement and his charisma cannot be described in mere words, he added.  The famous inspirational song "Kadam Kadam" was played during a walkathon by the senior management of the station and a cycle rally by the Sports Council to celebrate the occasion.

Earlier AGM (HR) Shashi Shekhar gave the welcome address wherein he spoke about the inspiration Netaji continues to give millions of Indians. His ideas and contribution will remain indelible for times to come, he added. 

NTPC Bongaigaon also started its weeklong celebrations for Netaji's birthday which are marked by various online competitions like essay, drawing, painting etc among employees considering COVID restrictions. The theme of the competition is "Contribution of Netaji Subhash in the freedom movement."

DGM (HR) Bhaskar Gupta gave the formal vote of thanks on the occasion. The entire program was held with all COVID protocols and was also aired LIVE to employees and family members.
