New Delhi: After registering its highest-ever profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 13,769.52 crore in FY21 as against Rs 10,112.81 crore in FY20, state-run NTPC Ltd has declared a dividend of Rs 3.15 per equity share on Saturday. The PAT figure for FY21 has witnessed a rise of 36.16 percent when compared to FY20. The total income for FY21 was Rs 1,03,552.71 crore as against Rs 1,00,478.41 crore in FY20, registering an increase of 3.06 percent. In an official statement, NTPC said that it has realised more than 100 percent of the billed amount during the year, crossing Rs 1 lakh crore, which is the highest ever realisation.

FY21: NTPC recommends final dividend of 31.5% of paid-up share capital

"The Board of Directors of NTPC Ltd have recommended a final dividend @ 31.5 percent of paid-up share capital i.e. Rs 3.15 per equity share of the face value of Rs 10/- each for FY21, subject to the approval of shareholders in the Annual General Meeting. The Company had paid an Interim Dividend @ 30 percent of paid-up share capital i.e. Rs 3.00 per equity share in February 2021. This is the 28th consecutive year of dividend payment by the Company," said NTPC.

NTPC's FY21 March quarter PAT at Rs 4,479.22 crore

For the March quarter of FY21, NTPC posted a PAT of Rs 4,479.22 crore as opposed to Rs 1,252.44 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The PAT for the Q3 of FY21 was Rs 3,315.34 crore. Total income for Q4 of FY21 was Rs 28,239.82 crore, marginally up from Rs 28278.75 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Saturday, NTPC said that its Board of Directors has approved enhancement of the borrowing limit of the company from Rs 2,00,000 crore to Rs 2,25,000 crore. 

In FY21, NTPC group has recorded the highest-ever gross generation of 314.07 Billion Units (BU) as against 290.19 BU during the previous year. On standalone basis, the gross generation of NTPC for FY21 was 270.91 BU as against 259.62 BU in the previous year. Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 66.00 percent as against National Average of 54.56 percent with an availability factor of 91.43 percent. NTPC Group has an installed capacity of 65,825 MW.
