NTPC Ramagundam receives awards in ‘Energy Efficiency’

Hyderabad: NTPC Ramagundam, has received four awards at 18th Energy Efficiency Summit 2019 organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Hyderabad recently. Ramagundam is the only industry which received all awards in the categories of Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award, National Energy Leader Award, Most useful presentations award and Most Innovative Project Award.

The awards were presented by Telangana Transco and Genco's CMD Prabhakar Rao in the Energy Management summit. A total of 294 companies from all over India had participated in the Energy Management summit, in which NTPC Ramagundam emerged as India's first power station to get 'Energy Leader' award. Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited (RGPPL), a joint venture company of NTPC Limited, GAIL (India) Limited, and Government of Maharashtra also received the National Award for Excellence in Energy Management.

NTPC Ramagundam

NTPC Ramagundam is a power plant of NTPC Limited, a Maharanta company under the Ministry of Power. It has 2,600 MW power generation capacity, situated at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district in Telangana state. NTPC Ramagundam is the current largest power station in south India and the first ISO 14001 certified "Super Thermal Power Station" in India.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organisation. It is playing a proactive role in India's development process. It was founded in 1895 and now it has around 9,000 members from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 3,00,000 enterprises from around 276 national and regional sectoral industry bodies. CII works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. CII organised the 18th edition of 'Energy Efficiency Summit' to facilitate advancement of energy efficiency in India, in Hyderabad recently.
