Observance of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ concludes in MIDHANI

New Delhi/Hyderabad: Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) observed the 'Vigilance Awareness Week – 2021' from October 26 to November 1, with the year's theme "Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity" as per the instructions of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The vigilance awareness week is being celebrated every year during the week in which October 31, the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls.

The observance of the vigilance awareness week commenced with the administering of the integrity pledge by MIHANI's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Dr SK Jha, Director (Finance) N Gowri Sankara Rao other senior officials and all employees of MIDHANI on October 26.

A series of events on the theme "Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity" have been organised for the employees. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to ensure social distancing various quiz competitions on topics like 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' "MIDHANI Purchase Policy & Procedures 2020," "Anti-corruption drive" were conducted in online mode. In line with the directive from CVC, vendor meet, and walkathon were conducted and a skit "Jo Na Dikhe Vaha Nahin Hota Hai Kya" was also played to motivate stakeholders across society to fight against corruption.

The week was concluded on October 1, with a Valedictory program. The company invited Dr Madabhushi Sridhar Acharyulu, Formerly CIC and presently Dean, School of Law, Mahindra University as a Chief Guest for the Valedictory program. The program was attended by MIDHANI CMD Dr Jha, Director (Finance) N Gowri Sankara Rao, CVO Dr Upender Vennam (IPoS) and other senior officials from MIDHANI.

Dr Acharyulu shared his insightful views on the theme stressing the importance of Vigilance activities in professional as well as personal lives. In the event, prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions held during the week. The session ended with a Vote of thanks to all employees of MIDHANI who were committed to contributing wholeheartedly to this program to succeed in its goal towards making India self-reliant with integrity.
