Odisha Governor graces International Women’s Day celebrations at NALCO

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Governor of Odisha Ganeshi Lal graced the International Women's Day celebrations of Navratna PSU, NALCO as the chief guest at the NALCO Research & Training Centre (NRTC) in Bhubaneswar on Monday. In his inspiring speech, the Governor quoted eloquently from Ramcharitmanas and the Vedas, where women have been put in the highest pedestal.

Prof. Ganeshi Lal, was all praise for women who are working tirelessly in various fields and lauded women for making a difference and contributing to the growth of the Nation. A brilliant scholar, Prof Ganeshi Lal enthralled the audience with his deep knowledge and wisdom.

Padmashree awardee and eminent writer Dr Pratibha Ray graced the occasion as the chief speaker and delivered the keynote address on various issues concerning women.

NALCO's CMD Sridhar Patra thanked Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Pratibha Ray for motivating the employees of the company. He said, ''Our women employees have always played a significant role in strengthening the company. They have always delivered and excelled at their work & beyond. We are proud of their achievements and consistent contributions round the year.''

NALCO Mahila Samiti's President (NMS) Sasmita Patra and members of NMS were felicitated by Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Dr Pratibha Ray, for excelling at the 'Mock Parliament' event, which was organised in the run-up to the women's day celebrations.

During the event, women employees of NALCO were also awarded for their performance in a quiz competition held recently. NALCO's Director (HR) Radhashyam Mahapatro & Director (P&T & Finance) Radhashyam Mahapatro, Director (P&T) and Director (Finance) MP Mishra and Director (Production & Commercial) Bijay Kumar Das were also present on the occasion, along with women employees, senior management and members of Associations & Unions of NALCO.
