Oil India Ltd observes ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2021’

New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL) is observing 'Vigilance Awareness Week 2021,' under the aegis of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), from October 26 to November 1 on the theme "Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity" across all its spheres and offices of OIL.

OIL's Director (Finance) Harish Madhav took integrity pledge on behalf of the organisation while OIL's Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Rajiv Kumar Gupta (IFS) administered the citizens' pledge to all employees on the occasion of the inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 on October 26.

On the occasion, Gupta in his address highlighted the importance for all the citizens to develop a strong sense of Integrity as we seek to achieve self-reliance as a nation and encouraged all stakeholders to collectively participate in prevention and fight against corruption. A webinar by an expert faculty Garima Bhagat (IRS) was also organised on the topic "Stage-wise Assessment of Integrity Risks in Procurement."

In his message to the employees, OIL's CMD SC Mishra said that corruption has no place in an ideal society and we all must work together to weed it out from our country.  "In the organisational context, there is a need for vigilant behaviour, on creating organisational awareness on the core values of our company and the importance of demonstrating them through our actions," he added.

Myriad in-house and outreach activities have been planned during the week to spread awareness on the topics of ill-effects of corruption and principles of honesty, transparency and integrity. This year the stress is on to make the general public aware of the mechanism of Public Interest Disclosures and Protection of Informers Resolution, 2004 (PIDPI) wherein the identity of the complainant is kept confidential if a written complaint is lodged to Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission with a marking as 'PIDPI.'
