PESB did not find any suitable candidate for NMDC’s Director (Personnel) post

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the head hunter body of the government which is responsible for the selection of personnel in the posts of Chairman, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) and Functional Directors in the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), did not find any suitable candidate for the post of Director (Personnel) of NMDC. According to a notification issued by the PESB, the selection panel's interview-cum selection meeting was held on Friday, in which a total of five candidates have appeared.

"The Board did not recommend any candidates for the post and advised to the administrative Ministry/Department to choose an appropriate course of further action for selection including the search cum selection committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority," the PESB panel said in a notification.

In February 2021, NMDC Limited had posted a job vacancy for the engagement of Director (Personnel) through the PESB portal. The post is vacant since August 1, 2020.

NMDC Limited is a state-controlled mineral producer. It is owned 72.43 percent by the government and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel. It is involved in the exploration of iron ore, copper, rock phosphate, limestone, dolomite, gypsum, bentonite, magnesite, diamond, tin, tungsten, graphite etc.
