PESB recommends DK Batra for Director (Finance) post of BEL

Dinesh Kumar Batra, who is currently serving as General Manager of BEL, has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of the Navratna Defence PSU

New Delhi: Dinesh Kumar Batra is set to be next Director (Finance) of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Bangalore-based Navratna defence PSU. Batra's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as General Manager in the same defence PSU.

Batra was selected for the post of Director (Finance) of BEL Limited from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. The other candidates were from Rural Electrification Corporation (REC Limited), SJVN Limited and Pashchim Gujarat Vij. Co. Ltd. (PGVCL). Koshy Alexander is currently serving as Director (Finance) at BEL Limited.

Education & background

Batra is an engineering graduate (BTech in Mechanical Engineering) of 1983-batch from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur. He joined BEL's Ghaziabad unit on March 1, 1984, as a probationary engineer (PE) after completing his BTech. Batra has had a very long association with BEL and has served in various capacities of the defence PSU. Prior to moving to BEL's regional office in Delhi, he was working as General Manager in BEL's Pune (MH) unit.

Bharat Electronics Limited

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a state-owned aerospace and defence company with about nine factories and several regional offices in India. The organisation is owned by the government and primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces. BEL is one of nine PSUs under the Ministry of Defence of India. It has been granted Navratna status by the government.
