PESB recommends Sanjay Sharma for SECI’s Director (Solar) post
New Delhi: Sanjay Sharma is set to be the next Director (Solar) of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. Sharma has been recommended for the role by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently working as General Manager (Contracts & Procurement) in the same organisation.
Sharma has been recommended for the post of Director (Solar) of SECI from a list of two candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. Another candidate who was on the list was from Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
As Director (Solar) of SECI, Sharma will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Managing Director. He will be responsible for implementation and post-award components of schemes with respect to grid-connected utility-scale solar, decentralized solar, rooftop solar, off-grid solar, solar thermal and solar- BESS systems including solar parks and establishment of Ultra Mega Solar Parks. He will also be responsible for the implementation of schemes of MNRE, Policy advocacy and regulatory matters.
SECI is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. It is the only PSU exclusively dedicated to the development of the renewable energy sector in India and its scope of activities covers all renewable energy sources. The vision of the company is to contribute to making "Green India" through the development of Renewable Energy resources working closely with stakeholders such as MNRE, the DISCOMs, RE developers, financial institutions and climate support groups.
