PK Gupta takes charge as new CMD of NBCC

New Delhi: PK Gupta has taken over as CMD of NBCC Limited, a Navratna PSU under the aegis of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, on Monday, October 7. Prior to this appointment, Gupta was serving as Executive Director of RITES Limited. He had joined RITES Limited in 2006 and served in various positions of the organisation. He had been recommended for the post of CMD of NBCC by a PESB panel on August 6, 2019.

Gupta has more than 33 years of professional experience as a civil engineer. He joined Indian Railways Services of Engineers in 1988 and worked in various capacities in the field of civil engineering, from assistant engineer to chief engineer. He has rich experience in the management of railway projects related to track maintenance and construction of railway lines, bridges, building etc. While working with RITES Limited, he gained the experience of metro projects and rail infrastructure and worked on various projects.

Gupta is a B.Tech. from National Institute of Kurukshetra, Haryana. He also did his masters (M.Tech) in Soil and Water Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) in 1984.

NBCC (India) Limited, formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited is a blue-chip Navratna enterprise and a PSU which trades publicly in the market. The Company's present areas of operations are categorized into three main segments

NBCC acquired 100 per cent stake in Miniratna hospital consultancy firm Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Limited (HSCC) from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on November 6 2018. The organisation acquired over 51 per cent stake in Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), a PSU under the Steel Ministry in 2017.
