PNB appoints new Chief Risk Officer

New Delhi: State-run Punjab National Bank has appointed its general manager Vishesh Kumar Srivastava as the Group Chief Risk Officer. He will take the baton from AK Pradhan who took over the post in the aftermath of the Nirav Modi fraud case. In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, the public sector bank (PSB) said, "The exchange is hereby informed that Shri Vishesh Kumar Srivastava, General Manager has been appointed as 'Group Chief Risk Officer' of the Bank."

Shrivastava was heading the Bhopal Zone of the bank as Zonal Manager. The zone comprised of 405 branches in six circles of the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The background

He has previously headed Shimla Circle of Punjab National Bank that comprised of 84 branches scattered across four districts of Himachal Pradesh in India, i.e., Shimla, Solan, Kinnaur and Sirmaur. He looked after business growth, liability and other insurance and technology-based products, through the network of branches manned by around 600 employees. He has also served as the Deputy General Manager at the Integrated Risk Management Division, Head Office.
