Power Grid Executive Director (TD) gets ‘IEC 1906 Award’ by IEC

New Delhi: In yet another international recognition to the Power Gridian, Power Grid's Executive Director (TD) and Expert of IEC Technical Committee 122 (UHVAC Transmission Systems) BN De Bhowmick has been awarded the prestigious IEC 1906 Award by the International Electrotechnical Commission. It recognises the major inputs made in furthering standardisation in the field of electro-technology. 

This international award from IEC, has been presented on the occasion of World Standardisation Day 2020 at BIS in a ceremony attended by Department of Consumer Affairs' Secretary Leena Nandan (IAS), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)'s Director General Pramod Kumar Tiwari (IAS) Director General, Department of Consumer Affairs's Additional Secretary Nidhi Khare (IAS) and BIS's Deputy Director General (Policy Research and Training) NK Kansara.

International Electrotechnical Commission

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) created the IEC 1906 Award to commemorate the founding of the commission and to honour those who have made an exceptional recent technical contribution to the development of a specific IEC work project. This is now the seventeenth occasion on which this award has been made.
