POWERGRID hires engineers from J&K through campus recruitment

New Delhi: Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a 'Maharatna' PSU under the Ministry of Power, has hired 13 Engineers in different branches from recently constituted Union Territory (UT) Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). The POWERGRID has hired these engineers through "Campus Recruitment Programme 2019" in NIT Srinagar. Under this program, a total of 13 Engineers, in which seven from Electrical Engineering, three from Civil Engineering and three from Electronics & Communication Engineering branches, have been recruited.

The campus recruitment program is being regularly conducted by POWERGRID in NIT Srinagar as a special initiative to encourage the youth in the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to help them avail better career opportunities

Union Minister for Power, New & Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship RK Singh and Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Union Territory Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Girish Chandra Murmu presented the appointment letters to newly recruited Trainee Assistant Engineers on February 26. On completion of one-year training, they will be placed as engineers in the corporation.

On the occasion, POWERGRID's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) K Sreekant, Director (Operations) Seema Gupta and other senior officials were also present. This campus recruitment program is being regularly conducted by POWERGRID in NIT Srinagar as a special initiative to encourage the youth in the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to help them avail better career opportunities.
