Prasanna Kumar Motupalli appointed as CMD of NLC India Ltd

New Delhi: Prasanna Kumar Motupalli is the new Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NCL India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment on Thursday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Motupalli has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. June 30, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Motupalli currently serves as the Managing Director of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). He has over 30 years of experience in the generation sector across fuel management, operations and maintenance, coal handling and power plant erection. Before joining GSECL, he worked with NTPC Limited as an Executive Director, handling corporate fuel management.
