Reviewing the Independence Day parade, Raghuram inspected contingents comprising Security and Fire Service personnel, NCC cadets, Rover Scouts, Scouts and Guides, and students from HSL and neighbouring schools in Visakhapatnam.

Addressing Team HSL, the C&MD described the shipyard’s workforce as its “true capital and real strength”. He emphasised that while machines, technology and capital can be acquired, the skills of a welder, discipline of a technician and judgement of an experienced officer are developed through people and experience.

Reiterating HSL’s legacy dating back to 1941, Raghuram highlighted the shipyard’s role in building ships and undertaking vessel repairs under the Indian flag. He said HSL’s work in strategic platforms, complex shipbuilding and refit contributes to a self-reliant and secure India in line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The C&MD also underscored the shipyard’s responsibility towards the wider community and the environment. He said HSL’s growth must translate into a stronger community, while reaffirming the company’s focus on employee welfare, training and quality of life. He also acknowledged the contribution of employees’ families in supporting Team HSL.
