Here’s the probable list of people who could be next ONGC CMD

New Delhi: Ahead of the interviews for the post of CMD (Chairman and Managing Director) of ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation), sources, who spoke to PSU Watch on the condition of anonymity, claimed that a number of senior executives from oil and gas PSUs, and bureaucrats with the state and Central governments have applied for the top job. ONGC is a Fortune Global 500 company and India's largest PSU in the oil and natural gas sector and the top position has, therefore, elicited a lot of interest from eligible candidates.

The current CMD of ONGC is Shashi Shanker. He was appointed to the position in 2017 and is set to superannuate on March 31, 2021. A vacancy for the post was notified by the PESB (Public Enterprises Selection Board) on March 2. Interviews for the selection of the next ONGC CMD is slated to take place on August 22, said sources.

According to sources, here's the list of candidates who are likely to appear in the interview round for selection as ONGC CMD:
