AK Choudhary takes over as MD of CVPPPL

New Delhi: Arun Kumar Choudhary has assumed the charge as Managing Director of Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL), a joint venture company among NHPC, JKSPDC and PTC, on June 1. Prior to his assignment as Managing Director in CVPPPL, he was working as the Executive Director (Contracts) at NHPC's corporate office Faridabad prior. According to a social media post written by NHPC Limited, Choudhary has been entrusted with this task due to his vast experience and expertise along with his dynamism and strong decision-making abilities. 

Educational background

Choudhary is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi. He completed his B.Sc. in civil engineering in 1983. He has vast experience of 35 years in the field of hydropower from concept to commissioning. Choudhary has experience of handling hydropower projects from the DPR stage (design phase of a project) to project execution including project and contract management. As Managing Director of CVPPPL, Choudhary's experience would be of great advantage for the company in handling the major contracts of mega projects of Pakal Dul, Kiru and Kwar hydro-power projects.

Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPL)

Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL) is a joint venture company among NHPC (49%), JKSPDC (49%) and PTC India Ltd. (2%), formed at the initiative of the government of Jammu and Kashmir and the government of India to harness the vast hydro potential of river Chenab. The company has been incorporated on June 13, 2011.
