Arvinder Singh Sahney takes over as Chairman of Indian Oil

Arvinder Singh Sahney has taken over charge as the new Chairman of Indian Oil with effect from November 13

New Delhi: Arvinder Singh Sahney, an industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience, has taken over charge as the Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) with effect from November 13, the Maharatna oil PSU said in an official statement.

A Chemical Engineer from HBTI, Kanpur, Sahney began his career with Indian Oil in 1993. Over the years, he has held key positions across various functions, including refinery operations, technical services, health, safety, and environment (HSE) and petrochemicals. He played a crucial role in the commissioning of the 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery, which has significantly bolstered India's refining capacity and energy security.

Before assuming the role of Chairman, Sahney headed Indian Oil's Petrochemical vertical. He was instrumental in conceptualizing several major petrochemical projects, including the upcoming mega Petrochemical Complex at Paradip, that is poised to significantly expand Indian Oil’s footprint in the sector.

Sahney is a strong advocate for a people-centric culture and is committed to strengthening Indian Oil's core business while expanding its green energy initiatives. His vision for the company aligns with the global shift towards sustainability, positioning Indian Oil as a leader in the energy sector.

Sahney also chairs Terra Clean Limited, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WoS) of Indian Oil focused on sustainable solutions, and is a Director at IndOil Montney Ltd, Canada, Indian Oil’s WoS.
