BHEL’s Krishna Kumar Thakur set to be next Director (Personnel) of NMDC

New Delhi: Krishna Kumar Thakur is set to be next Director (Personnel) of NMDC Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Steel. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. Presently, he is serving as Director (Human Resources) at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

Thakur has been recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of NMDC from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection Meeting No 122/2025 held on December 23. Out of 12 shortlisted candidates, six candidates were from NMDC and one each from IREL (India) Limited, KIOCL Limited, Grid India Limited, BHEL, SAIL and Reliance Industries Limited.

NMDC had notified a job vacancy for the post of Director (Personnel) on May 9 through a notification issued by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). Thakur will replace Priyadarshini Gaddam, who is set to superannuate on February 1, 2026.

As Director (Personnel) of NMDC, Thakur will be member of the Board of Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be overall in-charge of coordinating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies, management functions, administration etc. in the organisation.
