New Delhi: Birendra Kumar Tiwari is set to be next Director-in-charge of Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) Bokaro Steel Plant. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on January 1. Presently, he is posted as Executive Director (Works) in the same organisation. SAIL is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel.
Tiwari has been recommended for the post of Director-in-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Thursday evening. Out of 12 candidates, eight candidates were from SAIL and two each from RINL-VSP and MECON Limited.
As Director-in-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, Tiwari will be a member of the Board of Directors of SAIL and will report to the Chairman. He will be overall in-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant and will be responsible for efficient functioning of the Plant and the concerned mines for achieving the corporate objectives and performance parameters. He will also be responsible for project implementation at the plant/ concerned mines and for marketing/ sales of products from the Plant/ concerned mines.
